Today, in honour of Black History month, we read the poem, “February 12, 1963” and annotated it. We discussed the civil rights movement, some contentious history for North America, as well as what racism is.

We had a good discussion about whether or not “reverse racism” exists, or whether “racism” inherently requires a minority or marginalized group. Additionally, we discussed situational racism (what if you are the white minority in another country/culture?)
